For cycle.sound.color., Vanessa Porter composed ten sound installations inspired by ten paintings by her grandfather, David Porter. Each painting has its own distinct musical mood and atmosphere.

On her debut album, the percussionist combines live-recorded sounds with electronic music to create a world of sound entirely her own. Vibraphone, percussion, synthesizers and a wide range of objects shape a soundscape driven by rhythm, minimalism and sensitivity.

The album approaches each painting in a deeply personal way.

Für cycle.sound.color. komponierte Vanessa Porter zehn Soundinstallationen zu zehn Gemälden ihres Großvaters David Porter. Jedes Bild erhält dabei seine ganz eigene musikalische Stimmung und Atmosphäre.

Auf ihrem Debütalbum verbindet die Percussionistin ausschließlich live aufgenommene Klänge mit elektronischer Musik und erschafft daraus eine eigenständige Klangwelt. Vibraphon, Percussion, Synthesizer und unterschiedlichste Objekte prägen einen Sound, der von Rhythmus, Minimalismus und Sensibilität getragen ist.

Das Album nähert sich jedem Gemälde auf sehr persönliche Weise.
